Design That Feels: An Interview with Tania Nikolitsis

Tania Nikolitsis is an interior designer celebrated for her emotionally intuitive, timeless approach to creating spaces that truly reflect the essence of those who live in them. Her work blends authenticity, storytelling, and a deep respect for materials and light, focusing on beauty that feels deeply personal rather than just decorative. Tania’s style is uniquely organic, balancing modern classic elements with thoughtful functionality, always aiming to create environments that evoke calm, warmth, and lasting connection.

“Tania is an interior designer known for her emotionally intuitive approach to spaces. With a focus on timelessness, authenticity, and beauty that feels rather than performs, she creates interiors that reflect the essence of the people who live in them. Her work is guided by instinct, storytelling, and a deep respect for materials, light, and silence.”

How important is sustainability in your projects?

Sustainability is an important consideration in all of my projects. I value the use of renewable energy—particularly solar power—as a meaningful way to support environmentally responsible living. Designing homes that are powered by clean energy and function more efficiently is something I fully support and encourage.

Have you used or are you using any material from Cosentino?

I consistently rely on Dekton by Cosentino. It’s truly a go-to for me across a wide range of applications—benchtops, splashbacks, wall and floor coverings, and even joinery cladding. What I love about Dekton is not just its durability, but also its beautiful palette and the availability of different thicknesses, which make it incredibly versatile, especially when working on complex interior designs. It offers both performance and aesthetic value, which is exactly what I look for in the materials I specify.

What project are you most proud of?

I would have to say the Lediaev ensuite is the project I’m most proud of. Not only because it was recently recognised with a National Award, but because it genuinely surpassed my own design expectations. It’s one of those rare interiors where everything came together exactly as envisioned—or perhaps even better….
